BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
Monday, Carl and Minnie Lee Kelly celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary at the Benton Council on Aging with friends, family, Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington and Bossier deputies.
Sheriff Whittington said the couple is friends of the Sheriff’s Office.
“Mrs. Kelly is in our SOS program, in which we provide metal bracelets with identification information for victims of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia,” he said.
The Kellys go to the Council on Aging in Benton four days a week. Sheriff Whittington said, “The Kellys are a joy to visit with, and they love to dance. I don’t think that there are too many people in Benton who have been married 75 years, so this is a special occasion for all of us.”
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal sent the Kellys a certificate of congratulation.
