The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested two men after authorities say a Beulah home was broken into Monday.
According to a news release, "On March 31, 2014, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Torrien Shane Sanders, 21, of Valley, for Burglary in the Third Degree and Theft of Property in the Third Degree.Thomas Brent Starkey, 23, of Beulah, was also arrested on an outstanding FTA Youthful Offender warrant.These arrests stem from the following events:
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office received an alarm activation call at approximately 1:00 PM/CDST on Monday March 31, 2014 at an address in the 12000 block of Lee Road 279 Beulah, AL.Responding deputies discovered that the home had been broken into and some property had been stolen from the residence.The owner had installed a home security camera system at their residence which captured the suspect and the suspect vehicle on video.Shortly after the reported crime, Deputies patrolling the area located the suspect at a business located on Highway 29 North Beulah, AL.The driver of the vehicle was identified as Torrien Shane Sanders and the passenger was Thomas Brent Starkey.Sanders and the vehicle he was driving matched the description of the suspect captured on the home security camera system committing the residential burglary on Lee Road 279.There was also additional evidence located inside the vehicle by Deputies and Investigators that linked Sanders to the crime.
Sanders is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $4000.00 dollar bond.Starkey is being held without bond on his charges.This case is still under investigation.
